Writing.io has committed $2 million to bring free AI training and certification to Southwest Florida. If you live in Collier, Lee, or Charlotte County, you're eligible for complimentary access to our AI Course & Certification program.

This commitment provides 10,000 free registrations, valued at $200 each, in Writing.io's Core AI Course & Certification Program. The program is open to all residents of the three-county region, with priority access for startups and small businesses (10 employees or fewer), nonprofits, educators, first responders, and military personnel.

What You Get

Every participant receives full access to Writing.io's AI Fundamentals course, a professional AI Certification upon completion, and hands-on experience with leading AI models including GPT, Claude, and Gemini. The course is self-paced and typically takes 4 to 6 weeks to complete.

The program covers practical AI skills you can use immediately: prompt engineering for your profession, AI ethics and data privacy, and responsible use of AI tools. You'll also receive ongoing access to the Writing.io AI platform after completing the course.

Who Qualifies

The program is available to all full-time residents of Collier, Lee, and Charlotte Counties. No technical background is required. Whether you run a small business, teach in a classroom, serve as a first responder, work at a nonprofit, or simply want to learn how AI can help you in your career, this program is for you.

We are prioritizing enrollment for:

• Startups and small businesses (10 employees or fewer)
• Nonprofit and community organizations
• K-12 teachers, college professors, and education administrators
• Police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics
• Active duty military, veterans, and military families

Why Southwest Florida

Our Partnership with Collaboratory

Writing.io has partnered with Collaboratory, Southwest Florida's regional community foundation, to deliver AI education directly to nonprofit organizations and community partners across the region. Founded in 1976, Collaboratory has distributed over $120 million in grants and serves as the coordinating force behind many of the region's most impactful social initiatives.

Through this partnership, qualifying nonprofits and community organizations in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry, and Glades counties receive full access to Writing.io's AI courses, certifications, and platform tools at no cost. Collaboratory's deep relationships with hundreds of local organizations and their decades of community leadership ensure this training reaches the people and teams who can put it to work immediately. Whether it's a food bank streamlining donor outreach, a community health clinic improving patient communications, or a youth mentoring program building capacity with fewer resources, AI literacy is a force multiplier for organizations doing critical work with limited budgets.
